Ellen Cook

Ellen Cook began dancing at the age of seven.  She studied in the pre-professional program at Peoria Ballet, and is a graduate of the Peoria Ballet Academy. Ellen performed in Peoria Ballet’s Nutcracker for nine years, starring as the lead role of Clara in three different productions. She also graced the stage in Peoria Ballet’s productions of Midsummer Night’s DreamCinderellaWings, and Giselle. Her favorite role was Clara in The Nutcracker.

Ellen represented Peoria Ballet in the Youth America Grand Prix in 2010 and 2011, and also attended numerous summer intensive programs at prestigious ballet schools including Peoria Ballet, Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, Boston Ballet, and Faubourg School of Ballet. Ellen implemented the ballet and strength & stretch program at Miss Laura’s School of Dance for the competitive travel team, and her students have received numerous awards.  Ellen has worked as a coach to fitness competitors, and served as a professional coach in the 2014 CASAblanca Dancing with the Stars benefit for CASA of Peoria County.  She and her partner were awarded the Critic’s Choice award.

Ellen is passionate about the community and enjoys sharing her love of dance through outreach performances at local retirement homes, local schools and charity events. She enjoys working with students of all ages and sharing her knowledge of dance through teaching.
