Elizabeth Blackaby

Elizabeth Blackaby began dancing with The Studio of Dance Arts Unlimited at the age of seven under the tutelage of Judith Joseph and Ken Brelsfoard in Michigan City, Indiana. She became a member of the Youth Ballet of DAU as well as the Brelsfoard Dance Theatre. When she was sixteen, she moved to Peoria. After graduating from Bergan High School, she received her B.A. in Dance Performance/Theater Arts from Northern Illinois University. She received the Alternate Scholarship to the Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance. Professional credits include dancing, choreographing, and teaching with Afterimages Repertory Dance Company (Louisville, KY), Rockford Dance Company (Rockford, IL), and Pacific Coast Academy of Dance (San Clemente, CA). In 1998, Elizabeth taught a two week Master Class Modern Dance Workshop at the Claudia Cadena School of Dance in Medellin, Colombia. She has two teenage boys and began teaching back at Peoria Ballet in the fall of 2011.
